WARRANTY TERMS
LIFETIME GARDEN SHED WARRANTY FOR THE AUSTRALIAN MARKET

 

Durabuilt Products® (‘'Durabuilt®") warrants that the COLORCOTE steel used on all products is manufactured from prime material and will have a life prior to perforation by weathering in the natural elements of 20 years from the date of installation.

However, COLORCOTE® steel will inevitably weather. chalk and fade over time as a result of normal wear and tear and this is not covered by this warranty.

THIS WARRANTY IS SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

  1. For the purposes of this Warranty the “lifetime” of the

    COLORCOTE steel used on all products is 20 years from

    the date of installation.

  2. The warranty life of 20 years is against perforations from

    weathering in natural elements.

TO BE ENTITLED TO CLAIM UNDER THIS WARRANTY:

  1. The consumer must contact Durabuilt in writing at the address given below setting out the nature of the defect or damage in the goods. Proof of purchase must be retained

    and presented for. or on. any claims made to Durabuilt0

  2. The product must be installed in accordance with Durabuilt0 AS/NZS published fixing recommendations.

    current at the time of installation.

  3. Installation of the product must be greater than one

    kilometre from marine or industrial environments.

  4. The associated components installed by the consumer must be either manufactured from COLORCOTE®. Aluzinc. Steel, aluminium, zinc or other approved material that complies to Australian Standards and is suitable for

    end use.

  5. The paint finish produced by COLORCOTE® as

    supplied must be free of scratches. abrasions or damage

    and in no way be coated with an incompatible material.

7. Sheeting installed in sheltered areas or in areas unwashed by rain exposure must be regularly (on a six-monthly basis)

washed down.
8. Wall sheeting must not be used as concrete formwork or

be immersed during construction or immersed during general exposure.

Perforations or damage to the sheeting caused in part or in whole by the following are specifically excluded from this Warranty. These include:

a) Mechanical. chemical. corrosion or other damage sustained during transport handling. storage. erection or subsequent to erection.

b) Attack from chemical agents. fumes, liquids (including weedkillers) or solids other than direct rain falling onto the product under warranty.

c) Contact with concrete, mortar, bitumen, soils, ashes,

fertilizers or other moisture retaining substances. d) Immersion as a result of flood or substandard site

drainage.
e) Failure to provide a free drip edge to all sheeting.
f) Areas in metallic contact with lead or copper or subject to

the run-off from lead or copper flashing and pipes.
g) Failure to remove debris and/or Failure to provide free

drainage of water including internal condensation from all

surfaces of the product.
h) Deterioration of the sheet caused by contact with green.

wet or treated timbers.
i) Installations subject to unusually corrosive environments

at any time in the future.
j) Storm and tempest or other acts of God.

WHAT DURABUILT® MUST DO TO HONOUR THIS WARRANTY:

1. Durabuilt® will, at its option, replace or repair the goods depending on the extent of damage subject to the conditions below.

2. Should perforation by natural weathering occur in less than the warranted period. Durabuilt Products® liab· ility shall be limited exclusively to the pro-rata share of the product replacement of the affected portion as follows: Replacement product will be supplied at a discount which bears the same ratio to the then current price as that part of the warranty period not achieved bears to the full warranty period.

3. Under this Warranty Durabuilt® shall only be liable for : a) The cost of replacing the product:
b) The cost of obtaining equivalent product: or
c) The cost of having the project repaired

whichever r is the lowest:
and
d) Durabuilt®. Or its nominated agent, must be given the opportunity to inspect the site prior to any remedial action being offered or taken.

4. Durabuilt® reserves the right to inspect a garden shed prior to issuing of the warranty.

The benefits under this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies under a law in relation to the goods. Durabuilt® goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
