Hanging a bike on the shed wall is a great way to store your vehicle. It will protect your bike from damage and can be easily accessible, especially if you have multiple bikes. Stacking bikes up against each other is not ideal, as they can easily damage each other with the pedals and cables rubbing against each other.
By using a bike hanging kit you can store your bikes separately. They are essentially the same as a bike parking spot, but instead of horizontal bike storage, they are vertical. Most bikes are light-weight and provided the hooks are not too far off the ground you won’t need to lift it very high. If your bikes are stored in a steel shed you’ll need something different from a standard bike hook, as these usually rely on being bolted onto a wall or brickwork.
You can buy a dedicated bike shed from our website, and keep your bikes away from rain and dirt. Bikes can be difficult to store, as they need to be kept clean to function properly. If you have an existing shed but need to make more room for your bikes, you can attach some hooks to hang bikes to the walls. But if you need more room, then buying a separate bike shed can be your best option.
A bike storage shed is the best way to protect your bikes from the environment and theft. You may consider our flat roof shed as well, as their doors are much larger than any other shed designs. Which means that you won't struggle to get the bikes in and out of the shed. Our bike sheds are made from Colorbond steel and you have the choice of several different colours to match your home. We recommend installing good quality locks as this can stop thieves from easily gaining access to your bikes.
When you are storing multiple bikes in a shed, it might seem easier and logical to have them all facing the same way. But this can cause problems as the pedals and handlebars line up and can snag on each other making it difficult to remove them later. For best results flip the direction of the bikes, this will form a top to tail approach and will allow you to store the maximum number of bikes in the shed.
If your shed is tall but not very deep, you can install a bike hook on the back wall. This will let you vertically house the bikes. By storing bikes in this manner you’ll have clear access to all the bikes, and they won't cause problems for each other.
