Easyshed is all about family. As a family-owned Aussie business, family is an integral part of our core values, and we extend this to our team members. That includes the furry, feathery, and fuzzy creatures that have come into our lives and have become part of our extended family.
In today’s blog, we shift our focus to the pets behind the people behind the DIY shed magic. Get ready to meet some of our team and their lovable pets in our Love Your Pet Day feature!
Amanda and Desmond
If you’re in the market for a Big Shed, you’ve probably spoken to Amanda a few times. As a Big Shed expert, Amanda is passionate about her role and how to best approach your big shed dreams, taking them one step closer to reality. Not unlike Desmond and his big heart filled with love for his family!
“Desmond was born with springs in his feet and his ears painted on, but we love him just the same! He is truly a best friend to his human brothers, with matching high energy all around and all the love for playing and having fun! He may be on the larger side but will always try his best to fit on your lap or steal any blanket in sight to get cozy right next to you. He knows he is so loved, and his family knows for sure that he loves them!”
Dan and Miggy
Miggy is a mixed breed of Husky and Chowchow, a Chowsky! They get the best of both worlds and show traits that lean on curiosity, being headstrong, protective, and full of love. Dan didn't have a lot to say about Miggy, but he sure has a lot of good pointers for assembly and other technical items!
You can tell by the look that our Technical Writer shares with his fluffy buddy that the fondest of memories need not always be put in writing. Some unspoken bonds are best left between a man and his dog.
Johan and His Funky Bunch
He’s not just big about numbers! Our Chief Financial Officer is also big on love for his pets. Say hi to Baron and his sleek and stylish coat, Barb and her comfy doggo bed, and Yogi, the little cutie named after the Korean expression, “yo-gi-yo", which is another way of saying “excuse me”.
Kathy and Aasia
She’s not just big about numbers. Our Finance Manager is also big on love for her shih tzu, Aasia! Aasia loves zoomies and always chases cats! She gets a special twinkle in her eye when ducks are involved, and you can be sure that she’d drop everything and be hot on their tail!
As Kathy’s cuddly companion, she always sleeps by her side. Since Aasia came into her life, she only ever travels to pet-friendly locations and restaurants. Because really, everything is better when you share them with your best friend.
Liz and Her A-Team
When you’re handling big things like freight for our Big Sheds division, having that cocka-doodle-do it attitude really helps get things moving!
Meet Liz's crew: Chooka, The Jennifer Lawrence of Chooks; Bob, The Mechanic; Kevin, giving everyone the ol' Razzle Dazzle with his sunglasses; Smog, The Tech Expert; and Cyprus... well, this one’s sleepy and is just happy to be here.
Jen and Bridgette
Our most chic team member, Jenifer, always brings her personal flair! Of course it’ll rub off on Bridgette, her fluffy sidekick!
Always on fleek and tasked with purchasing for our Big Sheds line, her savvy style and work ethic are indispensable in ensuring that we have the materials we need to realise your Big Shed dreams.
“We're the ultimate duo: rocking matching outfits, hitting the beach, experimenting with hair colors, and most importantly, sharing heaps of love. Whenever I'm down, she's my instant mood-lifter and cuddle buddy.”
Nick and Willow
Nick works in logistics and helps ensure that our delivery runs proceed according to schedule and that things continuously move forward. That big smile on Willow’s face is a sure fire sign that our sheds are arriving on time and right on schedule!
Constantly on the move, Willow enjoys zipping across parks and smiling warmly at anyone who dares take on the challenge to race!
Yna and Luca
Luca is big, but gentle. He loves snacking on Yna’s flip-flops and hunting down frogs and has a keen eye for mud. He’s always game for a quick dip, usually immediately after a bath, before proudly displaying his art to his pawrents.
He’s scared of car rides but is always around for the journey and loves napping in odd positions and places he used to fit in as a puppy.
Yna helps keep track, plan, and create exciting promotions among a host of other tasks. Our E-Commerce coordinator is not just a furmom, she’s also a key team player who keeps the Marketing team on their toes and helps keep everyone’s creative ideas in check and organised.
Ask our E-Commerce coordinator about “seasoned frogs” and you’ll be in for a fun and heartwarming Luca story.
Adrian and Louie
Louie loves a good stroll! Zooming across the backyard and getting treats from Adrian, there’s no better way to unwind than with a buddy after a long day at the factory. Adrian looks after the production and keeps a watchful eye over our 100% Aussie-made sheds as they are being made. He keeps the team on point and is a crucial figure to our operations.
Jan and Padfoot
Whoever said shih tzus are apartment dogs sure didn’t tell Padfoot! He loves being outdoors and leaving a trail of dust when he zips around!
The inseparable pair go on a number of walks daily, and by walk, we mean a good 20 minutes before Jan has to carry Padfoot around for the next hour or two.
“I was against getting a dog when it came up, but that didn’t stop this little guy from sleeping in my arms the entire car ride back and deciding that I’m his human. He loves showing off his high jumps and has an odd vendetta against people who sell fish.”
Our Social Media Specialist brings terrible jokes and a creative spin to our marketing meetings and communications. From puns like “What do you Zinc?” to ads, copy, and content, you won’t ever need ChatGPT when you’ve got JanGPT.
Moses and Wally
Moses is a true leader. He makes life easy for his teammates by helping manage work orders and order scanning so our systems remain aligned, updated, and running smoothly. He values discipline and expects them from his colleagues, and his furry friend, Wally.
Well-trained and the goodest boy through and through, Wally knows Moses’ has his back, just like he has his.
Mitzi and Luna
Losing a family member is a painful experience. Healing can take years, and maybe in some instances, we never fully find ourselves whole again. But love does not die, it flows and moves along until it finds a new home. Such is the story of Mitzi and Luna’s heart-wrenching story of healing and forging a bond that would eclipse fear and loss.
“This is Luna. She is the first ever pup I have learned to love again after losing my son to rabies/dog bite. It took me 16 years to overcome my fear, and Luna helped me gain back my trust. I think she knows what I have been through, as she has been the most loving furbaby. Luna came to me when I needed her the most. My heart was ready for her.”
As one of the best team members manning the Customer Support line, a patient and full heart really goes a long way and helps in her day-to-day interactions.
Anna and Indi
Anna’s our local celebrity! When our superstar is not starring in company videos like the one we did for our 40th anniversary celebration, you can find her on her desk talking to Big Shed customers and giving insightful answers to their enquiries. Occasionally popping in during Marketing team meetings, Anna knows how to have fun and spread positive vibes throughout the office just like Indi!
Indi loves open fields and when it’s time to lay back and chill, she’s got Anna and her partner to cuddle with.
We're thankful for all the joy and fun times these pets have brought into our lives. Though they can be a bit of a pain sometimes (let's not get into the vet bills), there's no question about how they've enriched our lives with priceless memories that we'll carry for a lifetime.
